Scream!

Black Fox

I first watched the original scream movie around a year maybe more than that ago. My (at the time)Best Friend(I'll call him M) was absolutely obsessed with scream. It was his favorite movie franchise by FAR. For seemingly little to no reason. I tried watching it with my mom. However the starting scene in the first scream movie is very.. parent focused.. And she got too scared and triggered by it, and made me turn it off. I told my dad about this and he laughed at her, because after all it is a "horror comedy" and a parody, so how could it be THAT genuinely scary. So I tried watching it with my dad. However he also got too triggered by the opening scene, and made me watch it by myself. To this day they still refuse to watch any of the scream movies. Because of that it took me about 5...6? months to finally watch the second.

Around late April I stopped being friends with M(I will probably talk about that more later.. maybe) And it SUCKED. I did not want to stop being friends with them, I was told to stop being friends with them by basically everyone else I knew though, because he wasn't nice to me. So I cut him off. Around mid-late July my sister was in town. I absolutely ADORE my sister and most of the time when we hang out we watch horror movies, because well, we both really like them and deal with them the same way, if you talk through it and laugh at it you won't get scared(not that horror movies really scare me anyway, but whatever).
Most people don't share this same philosophy and HATE talking through movies, so watching them with my sister is always the most enjoyable. We were looking through movies to watch together one night and I suggested we binge all the scream movies(I both wanted to, and I missed M and thought it would be nice, and give us something to talk about should we ever get back into contact) and she thought it was a GREAT idea. So we started the second movie.

My favorite movie in the franchise is definitely the third one. I would say "by far" but I really like the first one aswell, but those two are definitely my favotite "BY FAR". Personally, my least favorite is the fourth one. It is genuinely not good and I find myself never wanting to watch it. In each of my seperate pages per movie(listed at the right) I put an image of the killer(s) from each movie at the side, they're all very uniform that way, and I hate and misremember the fourth movie so much that I had to actually look up who the killer(s) even were for that one before I could add the image. It also just has some very weak plot points, so I'm not the biggest fan of it but I do recognize it as a part of the series and still recommend

Once me and my sister had finished watching each of the movies I was absolutely obsessed with the series. For about two months straight I would get home and watch scream. I would watch as many scream movies in order each night, and then continue where I left off the next day, before restarting the cycle. I have now seen each scream movie about 9 times each. Whenever I was in this cycle my mom actually told me I wasn't allowed to watch scream for a little bit as it was becoming a "concerning obsession."(actual quote). As of writing this exact paragraph(and the ones above it) it is 11/16/24, my best friend is sitting next to me working on their website as I sit here wearing my ghost face jersey from spirit halloween, and my ghost face pajama pants from hot topic, with my phone sitting in a ghostface phonecase next to me, after having watched scream2 with my partner the night before, and scream the with them the night before that.

I genuinely really apreciate these movies, they keep me partially sane. I have a quote from A CHARACTER(not specifying to avoid spoilers) in my discord bio. I apreciate it. These movies speak to me in a way, a not-concerning way though.. I'm no psycho killer. Please watch scream and then yell at me about it.
